The Next Generation G.O.P

The next generation G.O.P. Aboard the Star ship USS Lame Duck under the lack of leadership of Capt. Crist Gay .

Several weeks ago, John Ubele -- the operations manager of the white supremacist Nationalist Coalition -- sent some Florida public officials a copy of the DVD "Jud Süß," a 1940 German film about a sneaky Jew who tricks an 18th century Duke into giving him control of his kingdom.

According to the nazi blog White Reference, several copies of this movie were sent to various public officials throughout Florida. Nice gesture, especially considering most hate groups prefer to send threats.

But the interesting part of this story is Ubele -- who has run for Florida public office himself -- received a thank-you letter from none other than our governor:

Being that Mr. Crist wants to leave his postion as Govenor. Which last time I checked was in the red & no jobs.

Would have been the first in leaders of an free nation to ask if the state she now governs should become independent from the our nation.

I've determined its best to transfer the authority of governor to lieutenant governor Parnell and I'm willing to do this so that this administration with its positive agenda and its accomplishments and its successful road to an incredible future for Alaska.

She must mean the road to no where. Or the pipeline that she’s funded with out getting approval from other states

So that it can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success.

My choice is to take a stand and effect change and not just hit our head against the wall and watch valuable state time and money millions of your dollars go down the drain in this new political environment.

One of our wise Alaska friends e-mailed the other day, pointing out that Palin's resignation is likely going to wind up costing in the vicinity of $200,000 or more, because a special session is going to be required to name a successor to the lieutenant governor's post.

Indeed, Greg Sargent is reporting that one of the reasons Palin repeatedly gave for resigning -- that defending her on the ethics complaints was costing taxpayers a bundle -- was fundamentally false.

All this for the sake of someone who already has a history of quitting on the state when she hit rough sledding -- but using the splash she made from doing so as a stepping-stone to higher office.

One other thought about Alaska that just about everyone in the tradmed seems to be missing. Sarah Palin did have a job in between being mayor of Wasilla and Alaska Governor: she was chair of Frank Murkowski's Oil and Gas Commission.

How long was she on this Commission? Less than a year... until she quit in January 2004 with a big public huff (leaving the Commission in the lurch with only one member), saying "the experience was taking the 'oomph' out of her passion for government service and she decided to quit rather than becoming bitter."

She publicly cited her frustration with being unable to be all straight-talky and mavericky about the corruption and backbiting on the Commission, but the resignation also came at a very convenient time for switching over to lay the groundwork for her successful 2006 gubernatorial run.

Let me go back quickly to a comfortable analogy for me and that's sports basketball and I use it because you are naive if you don't see a full court press from the national level picking away right nowa good point guard here's what she does she drives through a full court press protecting the ball keeping her head up because she needs to keep her eye on the basket and she knows exactly when to pass the ball so that the team can win.

That is what I'm doing keeping our eye on the ball that represents sound priorities remember they include energy Independence and smaller government and national security and freedom and I know when it's time to pass the ball for victory.

I've given my reasons now very candidly truthfully and my last day won’t be for another few weeks so the transition will be very smooth in fact we look forward to swearing in Sean Parnell up there in Fairbanks at the conclusion of our governor’s picnic at the end of the month .

I really don't want to disappoint anyone with this announcement not with the decision that I have made all that I can ask is that you trust me with this decision and know that it is no more politics as usual.

Some Alaskans it seemed today maybe they don't mind wasting public dollars and state time but I do and I cannot stand here as your governor and allow the millions of dollars and all that time go to waste just so I can hold the title of governor and I don't know if my children are gonna allow it anyway .

Some are gonna question the timing of this and let me just say this decision has been in the works for a while in fact this decision comes after much consideration prayer and consideration and finally I pulled the most important people in my life my kids.

Where the count was unanimous well in response to asking hey do you want make a positive difference and fight for all our children's future from outside the governors office it was four yesses and one hell yeah and the hell yeah sealed it and some day ill talk about the details of that think though much of it for the kids had to do with recently seeing their baby brother Trigg mocked and ridiculed by some pretty mean spirited adults recently.

By the way I sure wish folks could ever understand all that we can learn all of us from someone like Trigg I know he needs me but I know that I need him even more and what a child can offer to set priorities right know that time is precious the world needs more Triggs not fewer.

Not that I find fault with any mother with special needs or their desire to protect them. But in watching her campaign run unfold. Watched her never miss a chance to use her kids as photo ops.

Tried to cover family issue than instead of just showing records comes out on stage and announces every thing like there where those attacking her kids and her being mother grizzly rearing up please.

I’ve lost 26 friends from the current conflict can’t say war Mr. Bush never declare it. So not to have had a way to control the gas prices.
But life means all life even those who sacrificed their life’s fortified by lies.

My decision was also fortified during this most recent trip to Kosovo and landstuhl to visit our wounded soldiers overseas those who truly sacrifice themselves in war for our freedom.

They choose to be productive and serve something greater than self and to build up their families and their states and our great country these troops

Really we've just gotta put first things first and first things first as governor I love my job and I love Alaska and it hurts to make this choice but I'm doing what’s best for Alaska and I have explained why.

Though I think of the saying on my parents refrigerator a little magnet that says don't explain your friends don't need it and your enemies wont believe you anyway.

I’ve given my reasons its no more politics as usual and I'm taking my fight for what’s right for Alaska in a new direction now despite this I don't want any one any Alaskan dissuaded from entering politics after seeing this real climate change that began in august no we need hardworking average Americans fighting for what’s right and I will support you because we need you and you can effect change and I can too on the outside we need those who will respect our Constitution.

Respect our Constitution in the last 8 years have watched Bush and ones like him strip this nation of hard working average Americans of their rights and jobs and ability to support their families. Saying they had to keep info from Americans in order to protect them.

Have you noticed ever war after world war II the people knew less and less why we where fighting for.
Ones like fox news prints they found weapons of mass destruction this is the type of info protecting our nation
Wire tapping with out consent of a court and oh yes drill baby drill. Like new oil wells that could not come online to even come close to effecting gas prices in our time.

Cover up the damage by tankers I’m sure Alaskans remember this.

Where government is supposed to serve from the bottom up and not move toward this top down big government takeover but rather will be protectors of individual rights who also have enough common sense to acknowledge when conditions have drastically changed and they're willing to call an audible and pass the ball when its time so the team can win and that's what I'm doing remember Alaska.

There are those who have common sense to acknowledge when conditions have drastically changed like those trying to blame ones just now in office for the price of gas being high or my favorite being the reason a certain Governor Sanford had an affair.

America is now more than ever looking north to the future and it'll be good.

I wonder if this is the direction of Gods army coming from with the likes of Bill Gothard who’s been behind programs like character first and teaching our police forces character traits I see from the number of police being caught on tape that’s working well.

Alaska will be a safe place for Christians come the Rapture.

Were gonna be in really great hands the capable hands of our lieutenant governor Sean Parnell and lieutenant general Craig Campbell then will assume the role of lieutenant governor and its my promise to you that I will always be standing by ready to assist.

We have a good positive agenda for Alaska take the words of General MacArthur he said we are not retreating we are advancing in another direction.

Knowing your rights is an important first line of defense against harassment by law-enforcement, but sometimes a personal dashboard camera is the only way to expose our country's ongoing problems with police misconduct.

In thinking about the issue of dash board cams in police cars years ago.

Funding was the major objection was it worth the money for the voters to pay for them.

The reply was yes would remove the he said she said cut cost in bringing those who commit crime to justice. " protects the citizen as much as the officer if the public not allow to view the cam than the issue of t being used in court to get conviction now rears it's ugly head.

In the issue of police abuse it expands beyond the victim not only to those effected but the crime is being committed to the public as an whole.

There fore evidence of the crime falls into need to be viewed by the public.

If this not the case than the use of granny cams to protect the elderly from abuse or kids at sitters would no longer be an tool in court.

Which was the original promotion to get them in the first place.

Do police have the right to confiscate your camera?

If they do the public should be ably to confiscate theirs in truth it belongs to the public any way.

On this & several other points Mr. Charles actions on this issue don't add up.

The first being the tax payer's taxes pay for the cams so they should have access to them.

The next point is that every one has to obey the law no one's above it.

And when ever there is evidence of an crime all evidence should be reviewed. I think theres something called with holding said evidence.

It all started when 20-year-old Brett Darrow left his cell phone at a friend's house. They made plans to meet at a public parking lot, but upon entering the lot after dark, Darrow was confronted by Sgt. Kuehnlein. When he asked the officer what was wrong, Sgt. Kuehnlein flew into a frenzied rage, hurling threats and obscenities.

It is too bad Gov. Charlie Crist didn't have the grit to veto a measure that will make it difficult for law enforcement agencies to get rid of abusive officers.

Crist signed an expansion of the "Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights." It currently requires that an officer accused of misconduct be informed of all the names of accusers.

The accused must be provided witness statements before being interviewed by internal affairs. Officers are given every opportunity to craft a response to the accusation.

But thanks to the legislation sponsored by Sen. Mike Fasano of Pasco County and signed by Crist, the already indulgent law will be extended so that officers under investigation will be given not just testimony but all other evidence, including recordings and GPS history.

It was such information that the Tampa Police Department used to build a case against officers accused of billing hours they didn't work. Three retired, and one was fired.

The measure also allows officers to seek the appointment of a review panel if they think investigators have violated their rights.

All this is going to make it awfully hard to discipline bad cops. And the public will pay the price when arrogant or lazy officers are kept on the jobs.
Crist is nicknamed "Chain Gang Charlie" because of his tough law enforcement stands. But this time he is helping put handcuffs on law enforcement agencies
